Childhood/Home is a project that focuses on the idea of change and evolution as one grows older by recreating photos from my childhood. I got help from my mother, father, brother and sister to recreate these pictures as they too were captured in some of these archival photographs. All of the recreated photos aside from one were shot where the original photos were captured, in my childhood home in Burlington, Ontario. The process for this project was to go through all of my families physical photo collection, choose specific ones that I am featured in, and narrow them down to the ones that I could realistically recreate. I would then find the exact spot that the original photograph was taken and put my now 22 year old self in the place of my childhood self. I decided to pursue this project because it is personal to me but can also be very relatable. Evolution and growing up is a universal idea everyone shares, but everyone’s story is different. This project is me telling my story and shows how much my family and I have grown over the years, and how much things have changed. This project deals with themes of nostalgia, change, family and identity
